Well know platforms, thanks to videogames etc
But SM have made a lot of precision rifle.
The oldest one being the M1888/1895, and the Gewerh M95
In 1969, the SSG69 :
In the 90's, they made the Steyr Scout, one of the coolest looking sniper in my opinion

In 2019, they changed their name to Steyr Arms
The last precision rifle made before the name change is the Steyr SSG M1 ;
Chambered in 338 Lapua Magnum
27" Barrel
Almost 15lbs/7kg
and an OAL of 130cm
Sub 0.5 MOA accuracy

And then in 2026, i discovered that they were doing a new version of it called the SSG M1A2.
(at the time i write this blog, they introduced it in the market via Mile High Shooting)
It share the same DNA as the M1, but with modernizing features, such as Multicaliber/quick swap barrel, ARCA profile, barricade stop etc...
Most of the manufacturers, are now choosing ARCA as a standard profile for the handguard lower interface.
You can see a lot of new platforms with that features integrated.
The SSG M1A2 is no exception.
And of course, i made it !
A lot of parts are different than the M1, and i always rise the level to make them as much realistic as possible, so i started from scratch again :
While on the M1, i made the choice to use the TAC41 ramp.
On this one, i'm gonna make the accurate mags.
And here it is, Pre release WIP :
My version is the Commercial version and not the Prototype version, altought i designed both of them.
The prototype version got holes at each Mlok ports on the handguard, as you can see here :
And he also have some variations regarding the stock and the cheekpad.
Cheekpad is adjustable on the width axis, and stock is not really off center.
This chassis design is made of 30 parts.
Fully adjustable stock in length and height
Foldable Stock
AR grip interface
Accurate 30rds mag, and mag release
TDC Hop Hup, instead of the TAC41 wheel, for more realism
All the feature of the real one !
And since the TAC41LS got a short barrel, i did a covert version wich is kinda fun ;

Thoses "wired" renders are specially made so you can see the complex geometry, and hope it will help you understand the amount of work needed for such accurate chassis/works...
And of course since it's made for 3Dprinting, it's optimized for this usage, but can also be made in CNC, for a bigger cost.
And for those who thinks they have the right to criticize something they are completely uncapable of doing, i am still waiting for you to do such things in the same timeframe as i do them ;)
